I chose to watch this film over the summer as I have enjoyed many movies directed by Nicholas Winding Refn, including 'Drive' and 'Only God Forgives'. I have heard of this movie before and remember the trailer that came out in 2016, I felt that after studying aspects of cinematography that this would be a film that manages to capture aesthetically pleasing frames, with the use of vibrant colours, notoriously used by Winding Refn. The IMDB description of this movie is "An aspiring model, Jesse, is new to Los Angeles. However, her beauty and youth, which generate intense fascination and jealousy within the fashion industry, may prove themselves sinister." With a average to low rating of 6.2 out of 10, with the reviews often critiquing the storyline and lack of its substance, but complimenting the aesthetics and how visually stunning the film is.
